OYD required Delivery Gear to be found onboard for offshore
voyages
If this equipment is not found onboard in working condition it
must be purchased by the vessel, OYD or rented from prior to departure

MUST HAVE:
· Ships Papers: Documentation and/or Registration,
· Proof of ownership - letter of transit naming captain as
owner’s agent
· VISUAL DISTRESS SIGNALS - 6-12 SOLAS type flares both hand
held & rocket
· MOB RIG: Pole - strobe - horseshoe rig. – also heaving
line and recovery device
· Life Sling or other MOB recovery device
· Offshore Life Raft with current inspection (OYD can provide
rental)
· EPIRB 406Mhz (OYD can provide rental)
· Type I pfds - one for each crew member
· Harness and Tether, one for each crew member
· Jack Lines for length of boat and for cockpit
· Fire Extinguishers -- at least 3 BC II -- also fire blanket
for galley
· VHF radios (2) – One “ship’s” and
at least one hand held
· GPS
· Ground Tackle - pref. 2 anchors + 300’ + of rode each
· Radar Reflector
· Spare Halyard - (block + 100-150 feet of Dacron 3/8 to 7/16)
· FRESHLY SERVICED ENGINE - oil and filters changed, new impellor
within last year.
· Equipment needed to change oil - filters, etc. (Pump, rags,
container
· Engine Spares
o 5 Quarts of Oil - or more, at least enough for one complete oil
change
o Spare Filters – Fuel and Oil
o Spare Fan Belt
o Spare Impeller
· Jerry Cans (10) for spare water and fuel
· Spare Light Bulbs - 1 for each running light, + 2 spares
for cabin lights
· Basic Tool Kit – crescent / allen wrenches, sockets,
screwdrivers etc.
· Bosun’s Tools & rigging repair - spare whipping
twine, sail repair kit, spin patches, snatch blocks, shackles etc.
· Bosun’s Chair
· Emergency Battery Powered Running Lights
· Galley Equipment - pots, pans, eating utensils plates bowls
etc.
· Flash Lights with spare batteries - at least 6
· Basic Dive Gear - Mask, Snorkel, Fins
· Storm Sail plan – roller furling headsail in excellent
condition or storm jib
